We are inspired by the rich earth building traditions from around the world, including
Australia. We are proud of our own contribution to earth building. We are confident of the
contribution earth building will make to the future of sustainable green building.
Our Completed Projects
We have been fortunate to be involved in some very interesting projects over the years. Here is a small sample of a range of work we have undertaken.
Design and Construct – Passive Low Energy Earth Architecture
Rammed Earth Home Jaspers Brush NSW – design and construct. The design brief was simple enough. Rammed Earth, small, barn like two bedrooms, able to blend with existing rural buildings, beautiful with use of natural materials. One request of the client was more difficult to comply with. This rural retreat had to be comfortable all year though also on arrival any time of year.
Sustainable, Technological Innovation – Mechanized and Formed Cob Walling and French Drain Footings
Formed Cob walls, Kangaroo Valley NSW – Assist Self Builder. This was an exciting building to be part of. I was able to advise the owner during design and install fully engineered and approved rubble French drain footings and set up the cobbing including recommending and trialling formed cob – cob placed into temporary forms - for my first time.
Complete Project Management – Site Works, Buildings, Onsite Services and Utilities
Mudbrick home and shipping container studio, Tomerong NSW. We were engaged as builder after plans were finalised with council so we had Development Approval and Construction Certificate to work with. The two storey loadbearing mudbrick home was average sized though reasonably complex in design and construction.
Restoration, Repairs, Maintenance Insurance Work – Specialist Repair to Storm Damaged Historical Pisé Homestead

Workshops
Peter has been conducting earth building workshops since 1998 when he started conducting mudbrick workshops with Shoalhaven Adult Education. Peter has also conducted regular mudbrick workshops for Make It Mudbricks since 2004 and cob workshops with Gudhara Holistic Sanctuary since 2008.
Earth Building Solutions held its first workshops in February
2012. They were a seven day Cob Building workshop at Rocklyn
for Yoga Vic. and a Mudbrick weekend workshop in Nowra.
